After more than a decade of growth, creativity, and cultural impact, IJustWantToBeCool are taking the step from digital platforms to the cinema screen. Their feature film “Skurkarnas Skurk – Skurkskolan” will have its theatrical premiere on February 6, 2026.

“Skurkarnas Skurk – Skurkskolan” is based on the bestselling book of the same name, which has sold over 400,000 copies. The Skurkarnas Skurk universe has also grown beyond books into several successful board games and other merchandise, strengthening the brand and creative world around the characters.

Splay has represented IJustWantToBeCool since the very beginning, since Splay’s founding in 2013, and has followed the trio’s journey from early YouTube success to becoming one of Sweden’s most influential and beloved comedy collectives. As their agents, Splay is proud to see the creators reach this major milestone in their creative evolution.

Audience anticipation is already remarkable ahead of release. In the weeks leading up to the premiere, ticket sales have accelerated at the same pace as the Minecraft movie, underlining the strong public interest surrounding the film.

The film has also drawn national attention ahead of its release. Swedish Radio recently asked:

“Could it be the IJWTBC crew that will save Swedish film this spring?” (Splays answer: YES!)
